Solskjaer will be the next Man Utd manager

„Alea iacta est“ was certainly said during this week in Manchester United as news is coming out that the Club has made a decision about its next manager. It’s being reported that Ole Solskjaer won the job and it will be officially announced during this week, possibly towards the end of the week. It’s a very important decision that has been made as it will shape the immediate future of the Club.

A well deserved appointment

Solskjaer winning the job isn’t a surprise considering the work that he has already done. The club not only overturned it’s season completely and started playing way better even outplaying teams like Liverpool and Man City in this second part of the season. They also overturned a poor performance in the Champions League and advanced to the next stage. It’s has been a film-like story and it’s still continuing a Man United still need to secure the 4th spot to be able to play Champions League football next season. Next match for Man United is against Watford.

Whether thy hiring of Solskjaer was the right choice remains to be seen but for now, it certainly is the best option and solution. There were rumours that Zidane was a target of United but those talks never materialised as he was quickly snatched up by Real Madrid again for a substantial amount of money. It will be a difficult job for Ole next season as there are many rumours swirling around that some key players like Pogba and Lukaku want to move on, but it’s quite early yet for any predictions there and things can change rather quickly. Many still see Ole as a stopgap but in my opinion, he will be given a full year to judge him properly baring any shambolic season as Mourinho had to force them to sack him earlier.
