Struggling is a word often used to describe a football team that doesn’t play the way they should. In a weird twist of circumstances, we are going to use that word to describe the recent Juventus play.
After losing convincingly in the cup against Atalanta 3-0 they face an atrocious Parma squad in their home ground and drew 3-3. What’s even worse for the hosts is that they led 3-2 with only about 20 minutes to go. Very poor play and crucial mistakes allowed Gervinho, a familiar face, to score two goals earning Parma point they deserved.
Nobody can argue that Parma fought and left the Allianz Stadium as the winner. It’s obvious that Juventus are struggling especially with all the injuries they have in the defence. It’s not a good time to do that with crucial games against A. Madrid coming up.
This weekend they will visit Sassuolo, a team they have regularly beat these past years. They are not playing that bad lately despite having a very bad season generally. They beat Cagliari and drew with Genoa which is decent results consider a couple of weeks ago they were losing left and right with considering 3 goals a game.
This game will be tough for them because despite Juventus struggling they never played well against them and Juventus will be hungry to overcome their bad stretch. They are led by Cristiano Ronaldo who is a player that doesn’t and won’t tolerate these types of things especially with the Champions League around the corner.
With all of those things, it’s really hard to see an outcome where Juventus don’t leave the pitch as the winner. Sassoulo can try to do something but with Chielinni probably back it’s hard to see them scoring a goal and without that, they have no chance.
