On February 2, Barcelona will play against Valencia, at Nou Camp. This is the second La Liga fixture between the two. Last four matches between the two ended up with the Catalan team winning. Two times Barca won only by one goal margin, while the second leg of Copa del Rey ended with Barca having 2 goal lead. However, last time these clubs played, they drew (1:1).
This means that Barcelona isn’t that good against Valencia, and some betting freaks will most surely take this into consideration and play against Barcelona, or bet on a draw. They could also forecast that in this next game, there will be little goals (2-3), as from the last 4 games, 3 had less than 2 or fewer goals.
On the other hand, while statistics point to the one conclusion and the current form to the other. Catalan side cemented their place as the first team in La Liga, and they will most surely want to keep it. Valencia isn’t on the top of its game at the moment, as they are currently 7th, below Getafe and Alaves, for example.
However, Valencia won 3 of the last 4 games, scoring a lot of goals in the process. The team from the third-largest city in Spain destroyed Villareal (3:0) on 26 January, which will be a nice prelude for the important match with Barcelona.
Furthermore, they had another decisive win in Copa Del Rey, when they beat Sporting Gijon (3:0). Valencia has been reportedly linked with West Ham’s Javier Hernandez, who is currently unhappy with his playing time at the London club. Marcellino, Valencia’s transfer manager, confirmed that there has been some talks between Valencia and Chicharito, but that “situation is complicated”.
Valencia will most surely benefit from this transfer, as their goal-difference is by no means a good one. They have only scored 4 more goals than they conceded, so a helping hand (or leg) will be a nice refresh for their attack.
